What is a good, strong shot for a one-handed backhand slicer?
Ok, I love playing tennis a lot. I notice myself using topspins and underspins a lot, especially on my backhand hits. Most of the time its a underspin slice.
I want to ask tennis players out there what strong unique shot I can do with the things above. It would be great if you added much details as possible. Thank you.
I want to know a good timing to hit it, too. Also make it offensive and unreturnable as possible.
All the answers are correct one way or another but the way to best answer your question is to find out whether the backhand slice handed you is a cross court long one, or a cross court shot one, or a down the line long one, or a down the line, short one, then there is the question of where are you positioned when the backhand slice was handed to you, meaning is it landing on your backhand or forehand. Lastly, let's assume your opponent is a right hander on his backhand side so we just have to know whether his in the baseline or close to net. If you want a detailed answer, your question has to be very specific also. There are varieties of offensive shot that can be made but you have to be specific on the circumstance behind the backhand slice.
If it was a simple corner baseline to corner baseline long backhand slice, if the ball is high, rush to net and kill it with a forehand volley, if the ball is low, see if you have time to run around it and go for a down the line top spin shot so it clears the high part of net, if it is low and you don't have time to run around it, then 2 things can happen, 1. simply push it deep with your backhand up the line and run to net for the volley, cover the down the line but prepare for a cross court reply, or 2. push it real short up the line, I am talking of a drop shot right in front of net.
